Taajir

Retail shop software in Pakistan for billing and stock

Taajir gives a retail shop quick counter billing, a daily cash check that adds up, and a view of the shop from your phone when you are not behind the counter.

The problem

What makes this trade hard to run.

Cash in the drawer does not match

At closing, the drawer is short or over and nobody knows why. Small expenses paid from the drawer and old udhaar received in cash make it worse.

The owner cannot be there all day

When the owner is at the market buying stock or at home, he has no idea what was sold or who was given credit.

Best sellers run out first

Fast items finish and nobody notices until a customer asks for them. Slow items sit on the shelf for months.

Regular customers on khata

Families and offices in the area buy on account. Their pages in the register are hard to read and easy to dispute.

How Taajir handles it

Built around the way you work.

Counter invoices

Make a POS bill quickly at the counter and print it on a thermal printer. Stock drops with every sale, and the invoice can be sent to the customer on WhatsApp.

Daily sales and cash report

See cash sales, credit sales, payments received and expenses for the day, so the expected cash in the drawer is a number, not a guess.

Expenses from the drawer

Tea, rickshaw fare and small repairs are entered as expenses, so they explain the gap instead of hiding inside it.

Stock levels and reports

Stock reports show what is low and what has not sold, so you buy the right things on your next trip to the market.

Staff permissions

Counter staff can bill, but cannot delete invoices or see purchase prices unless you allow it. Changes are logged.

Check the shop from your phone

The mobile app shows today's sales and balances wherever you are.

A working day

From opening to closing.

  1. Opening

Staff open the shop and note the opening cash. Yesterday's low-stock items are on the owner's list.

  2. Counter sales

Each sale is billed in Taajir. Regular customers' credit purchases go to their own khata.

  3. Midday purchase

The owner buys stock from the wholesaler. The purchase is entered and stock goes up.

  4. Small expenses

Money taken from the drawer for tea or delivery is entered as an expense.

  5. Closing cash check

The daily report gives expected cash. Staff count the drawer and the difference, if any, is clear.

What retail looks like behind the counter

A retail shop in a Pakistani bazaar is busy in short bursts. Three customers at once, one asking for a price, one wanting change for a Rs 5,000 note, one who is a regular and says 'likh do'. The owner is often out buying stock, and a nephew or a salaried boy runs the counter. At night the cash is counted, and the total is almost never exactly what it should be.

Taajir does not make the shop less busy. It makes sure every sale, every credit purchase and every rupee taken from the drawer gets recorded at the moment it happens, so the evening count has something to compare against.

A worked example: closing the drawer

Here is one day at a general store in Sialkot, from Taajir's daily report:

ItemAmount (Rs)
Total sales billed48,350
Less: sales on credit (khata customers)- 6,200
Add: old udhaar received in cash+ 3,000
Less: expenses paid from the drawer- 1,500
Cash that should be collected today43,650

If the drawer opened with Rs 5,000 in change, it should hold Rs 48,650 at closing. If staff count Rs 48,150, the drawer is Rs 500 short and you know it the same night. Without the report, you would only know that 'the day was about 48 thousand', which tells you nothing. Our guide to end-of-day cash reconciliation goes through this step by step.

Credit customers without the arguments

Most retail shops have a few dozen families or offices who buy on account. In Taajir each is a party with its own ledger. Credit sales go in automatically when you bill them, and payments come off when they pay. When a customer asks what he owes, you send him the ledger on WhatsApp instead of reading out a page. If your shop runs mostly on khata, see our khata app page.

Buying the right stock

The money in a retail shop is on the shelves. Taajir's stock reports show which items are low and which have not moved, so the next trip to the wholesaler is planned from data. Over a few months you will see which lines earn and which only take space. Setting reorder levels for your fastest items is a simple next step.

When the owner is away

Taajir runs on the web, as a Windows desktop app and as a mobile app, so you can see today's sales from the market or from home. User permissions control what counter staff can do, and the audit log shows if an invoice was edited or deleted. If the internet drops during load-shedding, offline mode keeps billing going and syncs later.

Cost and getting started

A single shop runs on Standard at Rs 4,000 a month, or Rs 36,000 a year if you pay yearly. A shop that wants separate stock for a godown needs Business at Rs 5,000 a month, or Rs 50,000 a year. The AiroxLab team sets up your items and trains your staff remotely, in Urdu or English. Try it free for 7 days at taajir.pk, or read more on our billing software page.
