Taajir

Wholesale software for traders in Pakistan

Taajir keeps a wholesaler's invoices, godown stock and every retailer's udhaar in one place, so the seth, the munshi and the godown keeper all work from the same numbers.

The problem

What makes this trade hard to run.

Most sales are on credit

Retailers take 30 cartons today and pay part next week. With hundreds of open accounts, the register gets messy and old balances get forgotten.

Three records that never agree

The munshi writes bills, the godown keeper keeps his own count and the seth remembers the rest. At month end the stock and the money do not match.

Recovery takes all day

Calling each buyer to ask for payment, then arguing over what was paid and when, eats hours that should go into buying and selling.

Stock split between shop and godown

Goods sit in a godown behind the market and a few cartons at the counter. Nobody is sure how much is where until someone goes and counts.

How Taajir handles it

Built around the way you work.

Bulk invoices in seconds

Make a sale invoice for cartons, bags or dozens, and Taajir reduces stock and adds the amount to the buyer's ledger at the same time.

A ledger for every party

Each retailer and supplier has a running khata: invoices, cash, bank transfers and the balance after every entry.

Godown and shop stock

On the Business plan, stock is kept separately for each godown and the shop, with transfers between them, so you know where goods are before you promise them.

Invoices and reminders on WhatsApp

Send the invoice to the buyer's WhatsApp when the goods leave, and send payment reminders to parties with balances due.

Purchases and supplier payables

Record what you buy from mills and companies, what you owe each supplier and what you have paid them.

Staff permissions and audit log

Give the munshi billing rights without access to profit reports. Every change is logged, so an edited bill does not go unnoticed.

A working day

From opening to closing.

  1. Morning: check balances

The seth opens the party balances report on his phone and picks the accounts to follow up today.

  2. Orders from retailers

Phone and WhatsApp orders come in. The munshi makes invoices, and stock drops as each one is saved.

  3. Loading from the godown

The godown keeper loads goods against the invoice, and a delivery challan goes with the driver. Stock for that godown is already reduced.

  4. Afternoon collections

Cash and bank transfers from buyers are entered as payments in, and each ledger balance updates.

  5. Supplier purchases

A truck from the mill arrives. The purchase is entered, stock goes up and the supplier's payable grows.

  6. Closing

Reminders go out on WhatsApp to buyers with old balances, and the day's sales and cash report is checked.

How a wholesale business in Pakistan actually runs

A wholesaler in Akbari Mandi in Lahore or Jodia Bazaar in Karachi sells in cartons, bags and dozens, and most of it goes out on credit. The buyers are retailers who pay part now and part next week. The seth knows every account by memory, the munshi writes bills in a register, and the godown keeper keeps his own count on a diary. That is three records of one business, and at month end they rarely agree.

Taajir puts those three records in one system. When the munshi saves an invoice, the stock goes down in the right godown and the amount goes into that retailer's ledger. Nobody copies anything from one book to another, so there is nothing to copy wrongly.

A worked example: one retailer's account for a month

Say Rehman Kiryana Store in Gujranwala buys from you twice in a month and pays twice. This is how its ledger looks in Taajir:

DateEntryDebit (Rs)Credit (Rs)Balance (Rs)
3rdInvoice: 20 cartons cooking oil at Rs 4,80096,00096,000
8thCash received50,00046,000
15thInvoice: 10 bags sugar at Rs 7,20072,000118,000
22ndBank transfer received60,00058,000

When Rehman's son calls and says they paid Rs 1,10,000 this month, you open the ledger on your phone. Both payments are there, Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000, and the balance after them is Rs 58,000. You can send him the ledger on WhatsApp and the conversation is over in two minutes, with no flipping through pages.

Stock in the godown and at the counter

Most wholesalers keep bulk stock in a godown and a little at the shop. On the Business plan (Rs 5,000 a month, or Rs 50,000 a year), each location has its own stock, and you can move goods from the godown to the shop as a transfer. Before you promise 50 bags to a buyer, you can see that 38 are in the godown and 15 are at the shop. Our guide on managing stock across warehouses explains how to set this up so counts stay honest.

Orders, challans and returns

Bigger buyers often confirm an order today and lift the goods over a week. Enter it as a sale order so confirmed business is not forgotten, and send a delivery challan with each truck so the buyer signs for what arrived. If a retailer sends back five damaged cartons, the sale return is linked to the original invoice and his ledger is corrected at the same time.

Getting paid without the phone calls

Recovery is where wholesale profit is won or lost. Taajir's party balances report shows who owes what and since when. From there you can send WhatsApp payment reminders to buyers with old balances. A reminder that shows the exact amount, with the ledger attached, gets paid faster than a phone call that starts an argument. For more ideas, read how to collect udhaar payments.

Sales tax and reports

If you are registered for sales tax, Taajir's FBR-style GST report takes its figures from the same invoices you already made, and your accountant files from it. Reports also show sales by item and party, purchases, expenses and what you owe suppliers, so the seth can see the whole business from his phone in the evening.

Moving from the register

You do not need to enter years of history. Most wholesalers start with today's stock and each party's opening balance, then run new bills in Taajir. The AiroxLab team sets this up with you over a video call and WhatsApp, in Urdu or English, and trains the munshi on screen share. Standard costs Rs 4,000 a month (Rs 36,000 a year) for one shop or godown, and Business costs Rs 5,000 a month (Rs 50,000 a year) for several godowns. FAQ

Questions people ask

Can Taajir handle hundreds of credit customers?

Yes. Every retailer is a party with their own ledger, and the party balances report lists all of them with the amount due, so you can sort out who to follow up first.

I have one shop and one godown. Which plan do I need?

If you want stock kept separately for the shop and the godown, choose Business at Rs 5,000 a month or Rs 50,000 a year. If everything sits in one place, Standard is Rs 4,000 a month or Rs 36,000 a year.

Can my munshi make bills without seeing my profit?

Yes. User permissions let you decide what each staff member can see and do, and the audit log records changes made by every user.

What happens when the internet goes during billing?

Taajir has an offline mode. You keep making invoices and the data syncs when the connection comes back.

Can I send a buyer his full ledger?

Yes. The party ledger can be filtered by date and sent as a PDF on WhatsApp, so the buyer sees the same figures you see.
