QR menu ordering for restaurants and cafés in Pakistan
Put a QR card on every table. Diners scan it with their phone camera, browse your menu with photos and send the order themselves, and it reaches your kitchen already tagged with the table number.
No app to install
Diners scan with the phone camera and the menu opens. Nothing to download, nothing to sign up for.
Photo menu that stays current
Categories, photos, variants, add-ons and deals come from your POS menu, and sold-out items are hidden.
Orders tagged to the table
Every order arrives on the counter, tablets and kitchen screen with its table number attached.
Call waiter and ask for the bill
One tap calls a waiter or requests the bill, so diners stop waving across the hall.
Printable cards with your logo
Generate one QR card per table from the admin portal, for every branch.
Why QR ordering works in a busy hall
On a Saturday night the slowest part of dine-in is often getting the order taken. The family is ready, the waiter is three tables away, and by the time he arrives half the table has changed its mind. Later the same family wants a second round of chai and waits ten minutes to catch someone's eye. Every one of those minutes is a table you could have turned.
QR menu ordering hands that step to the diner. Each table has a printed card with its own QR code. The family scans it, sees your full menu with photos, picks items and variants, adds notes like "less spicy", and sends the order. It lands on your counter and kitchen display tagged with the table number. They can add more items later from the same phone, call a waiter or ask for the bill with one tap.
How it fits with your staff
- Print QR table cards from the admin portal, one per table, with your logo.
- A diner scans and orders. If you turn on staff approval, a waiter or cashier confirms the order before it goes to the kitchen.
- The order appears on the kitchen display system and on waiter tablets with the table number.
- The table shows as occupied in table management until the bill is paid.
- The bill prints from the same order and payment is taken at the counter or the table.
Waiters stay in charge of the floor. QR ordering cuts down the walking and writing, and the waiter still brings the food and checks on the table. Many restaurants use QR ordering and waiter tablet ordering side by side: young diners scan, older guests prefer to tell a waiter.
Photos sell
A printed menu shows a dish name and a price. A photo menu shows the sizzling platter, the cheese pull and the dessert. Deals and combos sit in their own section, and add-ons like extra raita or a cold drink are offered at the point of choosing. Because the QR menu is the same menu as your counter, website and tablets, you change a price or a photo once in the admin portal and every table sees it.
A worked example: the second round
This is an illustration with assumed figures, to show how to think about it. A café serves 120 tables a day. Suppose that because diners can add items from their phone without waiting for a waiter, 30 of those tables order one extra drink or dessert at Rs 250.
| Item | Figure |
|---|---|
| Tables per day | 120 |
| Tables adding one more item (assumed) | 30 |
| Price of the extra item | Rs 250 |
| Extra sales per day | Rs 7,500 |
| Extra sales over 30 days | Rs 225,000 |
Your own numbers will be different. The point is that the order that never happened because nobody came to the table is a real loss, and making it one tap away is how you recover some of it. Product and peak hours reports show which items people add later and when the hall is busiest.
What you need
- ArfaPOS on the Business plan (Rs 14,999 a month), which includes table-side ordering and the online menu. The 7-day free trial lets you test it on a few tables first.
- Wi-Fi or mobile data for diners. The menu opens in the phone's browser. Many restaurants put the Wi-Fi password on the same card.
- Printed table cards. Generated from the admin portal. Laminate them or put them in a stand so they survive spilled chai.
- Tables set up in ArfaPOS with their capacity and location, which you do once. See table management software.
The AiroxLab team sets this up remotely with you, tests a few orders from real phones, and stays on WhatsApp for the first weekend. If you are not sure QR ordering suits your hall, send us your seating and menu size through the Get a quote form.
